A thermogenic fat burning supplement suitable for men and women. Stacker3 is designed to speed up metabolism and help your weight loss if combined with diet and exercise. What is Stacker 3, how does it work, what is in it?
Stacker3 Review Summary: If you can’t seem to avoid fatty foods and cannot lose weight then a fat burner is a great option. Sadly, not this one though.
Advertised as a fat burner but containing additional chitosan (a fat blocking ingredient made from shellfish. The message is a little confusing.
Potential customers should be aware that chitosan is present and so those with allergies should avoid.
It’s hard to recommend Stacker3. We have our recommended diet products here.

Stacker 3 with Chitosan
Stacker 3 with Chitosan is part of a range of “Stacker 3” supplements manufactured in the USA by NVE Pharmaceuticals and distributed under the Stacker 2 brand name.
It is also marketed under the name Stacker3 XPLC.
In addition to being the brand name, Stacker 2 was also the brand’s first product. It was very successful in the USA and in Europe as well.
The brand name is a reference to the bodybuilding term “stacking.”
Stacking is the practice of using two or more drugs or supplements alongside each other.
In the late 1990s, when Stacker 2 was launched, caffeine, ephedra, and aspirin was a popular stack. Stacker 2 provided the stack in a single pill.
After the FDA banned Ephedra supplements in 2003, Stacker 2 had to revise its products and make them ephedra-free.
Stacker 3 with Chitosan is an unusual product. It’s marketed with the promise that it’s the newest and most powerful advanced fat burner and energy provider.
Chitosan is a fat blocker though. Not a fat burner. It limits the number of calories your body can absorb from the fat in your food. Stacker 2’s marketing material does not mention this ability. It’s an odd-ball inclusion that has no business being here at all.
Stacker 3 Benefits
- Dynamic energizer
- Boosts metabolism
- Provides advanced fat burning
How Does Stacker 3 Work
The information provided on the official sales page is brief, to say the least. It states what the product is meant to do but not how will do it.
However, Stacker 3 with Chitosan is primarily designed to function as an energy-booster and fat burner. Each capsule provides 250 mg of caffeine. It’s both an energy provider and a fat burner so, in theory, Stacker 3 with Chitosan should do the two main things it’s designed to do.
The formulation also contains a few other useful ingredients but caffeine is likely to be the key player and that’s a problem. Each capsule provides as much caffeine as 2.5 cups of coffee – all at once, in a single hit.
Caffeine helps you to burn more fat by increasing your metabolism, helping you to burn more calories than you could by diet and exercise alone.
Unfortunately, as your body adapts to caffeine and attains a greater tolerance, the beneficial effects of the stimulant decrease.
Ingredient Profile
Either there are two versions of this product or some sites are offering counterfeit versions. Either way, although all the sites selling Stacker 3 with Chitosan are listing the same seven ingredients, the inclusion rates differ.
In the interest of accuracy, we are using ingredient information provided on the manufacturer’s website.
According to the Stacker2 website, each (1-capsule) serving provides:
- Chromium Picolinate (287 mcg)
- Caffeine (250 mg)
- Proprietary Blend (305 mg)
The proprietary blend consists of undisclosed quantities of the following five ingredients:
- Green Tea Leaves
- Taurine
- Garcinia Cambogia
- White Willow Bark
- Chitosan (Shellfish Origin)
The capsule casing is made from gelatin, so Stacker 3 with Chitosan is unsuitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Stacker3 with Chitosan: Ingredient Evaluation
Chromium Picolinate (287 mcg)
Chromium is a popular diet pill ingredient. Most manufacturers provide it as chromium picolinate because it’s the easiest form to absorb.
Research shows chromium enhances insulin activity, improves blood glucose control, and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease. It may be especially beneficial to overweight people.
Experts endorse the use of chromium picolinate over other forms of chromium and state supplements should provide 200 – 1000 mg per day. Stacker 3 with Chitosan does this, so the inclusion rate is okay.
By regulating blood glucose, chromium may ward off the blood glucose crashes that often trigger urges for sugar and carbs.
Caffeine (250 mg)
We’ve already mentioned caffeine’s ability to boost metabolism. Now’s as good a time as any to look at some proof.
There’s a mountain of research to support using caffeine as a metabolism booster. It also increases energy expenditure by increasing thermogenesis, causing your body to lose extra energy as heat. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2912010/
Proprietary Blend (305 mg)
There are five ingredients in the proprietary blend and they are unlikely to be level-pegging it. Unfortunately, there is no way to ascertain what the ratios are.
If the proprietary blend is mostly green tea, it would increase the fat-burning potency of the formulation because green tea is one of the best natural fat burners available.
Lots of studies prove this and one of them is equally supportive of green tea’s ability to protect the heart. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17557985/
Garcinia cambogia is also a good inclusion (if the proprietary blend has enough). It provides hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which reduces hunger and discourages your body from storing excess calories as fat.
Taurine is an amino acid that boosts energy. Most of the best energy drinks have taurine in them. It’s a useful inclusion that could work well alongside caffeine but there is no way Stacker 3 with Chitosan is going to provide enough.
A 250 ml can of Red Bull provides 1000 mg of taurine. Even if the proprietary blend was 99% taurine, it would be nowhere near that amount.
White willow bark is an interesting inclusion. It provides an aspirin-like compound called salicin. As we mentioned earlier in this review, aspirin, caffeine, and ephedra used to be a popular stack.
Unfortunately, Stacker 3 with Chitosan does not have any ephedra. This inclusion isn’t likely to do a lot.
Last but not least, we have chitosan. It could be seen as an important inclusion because it gets celebrity billing on the label.
There are two types of chitosan. The best type comes from fungus. The other one is sourced from the shells of crabs, shrimps, and other sea-living crustaceans. That’s the type we are dealing with here.
As already mentioned, chitosan inhibits fat absorption in the gut. The fat that is not absorbed does not release any calories. It just exits the body as poop.
Fat-blocking diet pills generally provide chitosan in doses of 500 mg to 4 grams per day. Again, there is no way Stacker 3 with Chitosan can provide a sufficient amount.
Stacker 3 with Chitosan Usage Guidelines and Considerations
Stacker 3 with Chitosan is for healthy adults over the age of 18. It’s unsuitable for women who are pregnant or nursing a child.
The dose is one capsule, taken after meals up to a maximum of three times per day.
Three capsules per day provide 750 mg of caffeine. That’s a huge amount.
Health experts suggest not consuming more than 400 mg of caffeine per day. Stacker 3 with Chitosan provides nearly double this amount. You may want to bear that in mind before using this product at the maximum dose.
Regardless of whether you take one capsule per day or three, consuming caffeine from other sources, alongside this product, will greatly increase the chances of side effects.
If you have existing health issues or would need to use the supplement alongside medication, we strongly recommend you seek medical advice before doing so.
The chitosan in this supplement comes from shellfish. You won’t be able to use it if you have seafood allergies.
Stacker 3 with Chitosan Customer Reviews
Amazon has plenty of customer reviews but there is no way to be certain they are relevant to the genuine product so they cannot be relied upon for accuracy.
At the time of our review, the Stacker 2 website only had two customer reviews. Both of them were by people awarding the supplement top marks, but one of the reviewers was doing so without even trying it first.
Known Side Effects of Stacker3
Stacker 3 with Chitosan contains a lot of caffeine. That means caffeine-typical side effects such as headaches, nausea, jitters, and racing heart rate cannot be ruled out. Whether or not you experience side effects like these will depend on how high or low your caffeine tolerance is.
Due to the use of marine-source chitosan, if you have seafood allergies, using Stacker 3 with Chitosan could cause an allergic reaction.
Where to Buy Stacker 3 – Purchasing Options and Considerations
Stacker2 products are tremendously popular in the USA and Europe so most people should have no difficulty finding an online store that stocks Stacker 3 with Chitosan.
It’s also often possible to buy Stacker 3 with Chitosan via Amazon. Buying directly from the manufacturer’s website is another option.
When you buy from the Stacker 2 website, Stacker 3 with Chitosan costs less than $10 per bottle. However, there are only 20 capsules per bottle. If you use the maximum dose of three capsules per day, that’s one capsule short of a seven-day supply.
The site also generally has bottles that provide 100 capsules. These cost around $20 and offer much better value for money.
Guarantee
Stacker 2 products don’t have money-back guarantees.
Stacker 3 Review Conclusion
If you need more energy to throw into sports or training, Stacker 3 with Chitosan may help you to get it. Then again it may not. It’s all going to boil down to your caffeine tolerance.
The formulation may also help you to burn extra fat. Again though, the level of benefit will depend on your caffeine tolerance.
If you have low tolerance, there is a good chance Stacker 3 with Chitosan will cause unpleasant side effects. If you have an unusually high caffeine tolerance, you may find the supplement provides little or no benefits.
Nevertheless, the chromium content may help you to avoid carb and sugar cravings. That will be useful.
Unfortunately, although the formulation contains one of the best natural fat burners (green tea) it’s included as part of a proprietary blend. That means there’s no way to know if the pills provide enough. The same is true for the other proprietary blend ingredients.
There are a lot of unknowns with this product so, in the absence of a reliable source of customer review, we cannot recommend it as anything more than a glorified caffeine pill.
If are trying to lose weight, and need a good fat burner to help you to do it, several alternative options are better than this one. Options that don’t contain proprietary blends and do have money-back guarantees. We suggest you choose one of those instead.
