A weight loss dietary supplement that is advertised as a metabolic support formula to aid weight loss. If you have a slow metabolism the manufacturers claim Apex-TX5 could be what you need to help the fat burning process.
Review Summary: APEX-TX5 is a well-presented weight loss pill that’s marketed via a very professional-looking website. It’s also not expensive.
Unfortunately, there are more reasons that would dissuade potential buyers than persuade.
It is our opinion to look elsewhere
We have created a recommended list of fat burners and weight loss pills that have a high success rate.

What isAPEX-TX5
APEX-TX5 is a diet pill (dietary supplement) manufactured and distributed by Intechra Health. It’s a US company based in the state of Washington.
According to the official website, Intechra Health is a family-run business that’s been in the supplement industry since 2012.
Although Intechra Health does not appear to be known to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), it appears to be a reputable company. BBB pages appear quickly when people who have bad experiences with companies need somewhere to share their complaints.
In addition to APEX-TX5, Intechra Health produces several other weight-management supplements. It also has formulations that aim to improve sleep and eye health.
As with two of the company’s other weight management products (Fenfast375 + Phenblue), APEX-TX5 appears to be marketed in a way that may attracts the attention of people looking for Phentermine substitutes and, in particular, Adipex-P.
Phentermine is a prescription-only weight loss medication. Adipex-P is one of the most popular phentermine brands.
Adipex-P tablets have distinctive-looking blue flecks. APEX-TX5 mimics this to a certain extent because it also has blue specks but has some red ones as well.
Weight Loss Benefits ofAPEX-TX5
Intechra Health has toned down its marketing claims in recent years. It used to make very grand boasts about skyrocketing metabolism, burning stubborn belly fat, and weight losses of up to 25 pounds a month.
The present marketing claims do not require such a big leap of faith.
- Improves alertness and focus
- Helps you power through fat burning
- Provides thermogenic intensifiers for maximum burn during exercise
- Boosts energy and prevents fatigue for hours.
How Does APEX-TX5 Work?
Like a lot of diet pills you can buy over the counter, APEX-TX5 appears to be pretty much a stimulant-driven product.
Stimulants like caffeine and phenylethylamine help you to lose weight by boosting your metabolism. They also increase thermogenesis.
When your metabolism increases you burn extra calories.
Physical activity increases metabolism by causing a greater need for energy. That’s why exercise is so good for helping you to lose weight.
Stimulants don’t have as great an effect on metabolism as exercise does, but they can provide modest increases in energy expenditure during exercising. They can also do this while you are at rest.
Thermogenesis is a biological process. It generates heat within the body. Exercise increases thermogenesis. That’s why a good workout makes you hot and sweaty.
Heat is energy. When thermogenesis increases, you lose extra calories to the air around you. If you are eating a low-calorie diet, increasing thermogenesis helps you to lose extra weight but exercise does it better.
However, increasing metabolism and thermogenesis only works for weight loss if your diet is sufficiently low in calories.
Stimulants can help you to maintain a low-calorie diet by suppressing hunger. However, plant extracts such as glucomannan and nopal are more potent.
Stimulants also fight fatigue and can provide you with extra energy to train. The truth is, stimulants support weight loss in several ways. But they also present a risk of side effects and, the greater the stimulant content is, the higher the risk.
The other problem with stimulants is your body adapts to their presence, causing them to become less effective.
So, although low to moderate doses of stimulants can be useful, other natural alternatives such as capsicum and green tea are safer and offer better long-term results.
How to Use APEX-TX5
The dose is two tablets, two times per day, taken with 8oz of water and some food.
Intechra Health sensibly stresses the importance of using APEX-TX5 alongside a reduced-calorie diet and exercise program.
It also advises leaving at least five hours between the second dose and going to bed. The stimulants in APEX-TX5 have the potential to interfere with sleep.
APEX-TX5 Ingredient Profile
Each (2-tablet) dose provides 850 mg of the Apex-TX5 Complex. It’s a proprietary blend.
As is normally the case with proprietary blends, the supplement facts printed on the back of the bottle only state the ingredients present, not the inclusion rates.
The Apex-TX5 Complex consists of undisclosed amounts of the following five ingredients:
- Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI
- Caffeine
- Beta Phenylethylamine HCI
- L-Tyrosine
- Theobromine
What the Ingredients Do
As you can see, two of the ingredients are “HCI.”
When you see HCI next to an ingredient it means it is provided as a hydrochloride salt. HCI is one of the most common salts used for formulating medication. This type of salt is popular because the body finds it easy to absorb.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI
Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) is a reasonably popular ingredient that’s present in many sports supplements and some supplements that aim to help people to lose weight.
The ingredient information page on the Intechra Health website makes various claims for ALCAR and then backs them up with a link to a study.
The study in question does not support the claims. It only shows the way the body responds to intravenous injections of ALCAR in comparison to L-carnitine injections.
This means nothing. Especially if bear in mind the ALCAR in APEX-TX5 is delivered via a pill, not an injection. (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2591464/)
However, some research suggests oral doses of ALCAR may improve cognitive function and boost physical performance.
In theory, ALCAR could be a useful inclusion but, let’s not forget, Intechra Health fails to reveal how much of it each dose provides.
Caffeine
Caffeine is the most commonly used stimulant in the world. Lots of supplements contain it and weary individuals often buy caffeine tablets to help them to fight sleep.
However, although caffeine is a good diet pill ingredient, that can work well alongside other ingredients, Intechra Health tries to make it appear better than it. They state it’s “known to be a strong fat burner and features intense appetite suppressant properties.”
Caffeine is a good fat burner, but its effect on appetite is normally quite mild. That’s why the best diet pills pair it with powerful hunger suppressants like glucomannan or nopal cactus extract.
Many diet pills provide around 100 mg of caffeine per dose. This is similar to the amount of caffeine you’d get by drinking a cup of coffee and research shows it’s enough to boost metabolism and thermogenesis sufficiently to support improvements in weight loss.
Higher doses can be beneficial too but the best diet pills seldom provide more than 150 mg per dose.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if APEX-TX5 provides a high enough dose of caffeine. Nor do we know if the dose is overly high but we do know APEX-TX5 pairs it with other stimulants. This greatly increases the chances of side effects.
Beta Phenylethylamine HCI
Beta-phenylethylamine (ß-phenylethylamine) is one of several names used for phenylethylamine. A shorter one is PEP.
Phenylethylamine is a chemical that occurs naturally in the body. It’s also present in certain fungi and bacteria and even in chocolate bars. Phenylethylamine is a stimulant.
Phenylethylamine is one of the APEX-TX5 favorite ingredients. The company uses it in several supplements. Perhaps not surprisingly, the company website ingredient information page tries hard to make it appear better than it is.
The page also provides four links to studies.
One of the links goes to a page that appears to have been removed, one is to a study about an entirely different ingredient (synephrine), and another leads to a study conducted on a product called Meltdown that combines Phenylethylamine with several other stimulants.
The fourth study supports using Phenylethylamine as an antidepressant.
However, as you will see in the “side effects” section of this review, using phenylethylamine in supplements could be seen as a questionable practice.
L-Tyrosine
L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that’s present in many bodybuilding supplements and some diet pill formulations.
In addition to helping build muscle, L-Tyrosine produces important neurotransmitters that are necessary for healthy cognitive function and may help regulate mood. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1863555/)
Theobromine
Theobromine is a cocoa alkaloid. Like caffeine and Beta Phenylethylamine, it’s a stimulant.
When it’s acting alone, theobromine is less harsh than most other stimulants and not so likely to cause side effects.
Unfortunately, it’s not acting alone here.
Theobromine is also the compound responsible for the mood-improving abilities of chocolate. By lifting the mood, it may offer protection against comfort eating.
It might have been better to use theobromine in place of one of the other stimulants instead of in addition to them.
APEX-TX5 Customer Reviews
Customer reviews on the manufacturer’s website are very good but it’s unwise to rely on comments made available at such a biased source and an onsite disclaimer admits some customers were compensated in exchange for their “unbiased reviews.”
Customer feedback available elsewhere is mixed. Some customers praise APEX-TX5, others say it does not work and/or causes side effects.
A couple of positive reviews.
I feel so much better about myself. I lost 7lbs in the first 3 weeks and I’ve never felt more confident.
I’M grateful to have been given the opportunity to try Apex-T5! I used it three times a day and saw some great results, especially in my stomach. After only a month on this product, I’ve lost over 10 pounds!
Now, a couple of reviews from people stating the product let them down.
Sorry, nada … no weight loss and $200 down the drain
I’m sorry to say, but I didn’t lose any weight while using APEX-T5. It was a waste of time and money.
Known Side Effects & Other Issues
The presence of Beta-Phenylethylamine HCl (PEA) in the formulation may make APEX-TX5 unsuitable for anyone who has to undergo drug testing.
Although the body metabolizes the ingredient quickly, there is still a chance there may be enough present in the urine to trigger a false positive for amphetamine (speed).
According to WebMD (trusted source), PEA is possibly unsafe for most people, when taken by mouth.
Its similarity to amphetamine allows it to cause similar side effects.
Common amphetamine side effects can include anxiety, agitation, and racing heart.
Some customer reviews mention racing heartbeat but headaches and nausea appear to be a more common problem. There are also reports of jitters but all these side effects could be equally attributable to an overly high dose of caffeine.
Bearing in mind the health risk associated with Beta-Phenylethylamine, it is best to seek a physician’s advice before using APEX-TX5 to support “speedy” weight loss.
Where to Buy APEX-TX5
It’s generally best to buy APEX-TX5 via the Intechra Health website. Stock permitting, the supplement is sometimes available via Amazon but buying directly from the manufacturer usually gets you a better deal on the price.
You can also purchase form well known bricks and mortar stores such as Walmart, CVS and Walgreens.
At the time of this review, APEX-TX5 cost $37 per bottle. That’s very reasonable because there are 120 tablets inside. That’s enough to provide 30-days of weight loss support.
If you want a better deal, it’s possible to make modest savings by placing larger orders.
At the time of this review, the best deal went to customers buying six bottles of APEX-TX5 for $199. That’s a saving of $3.83 per bottle and, Intechra Health also throws in a fourth bottle on the house.
Guarantee
Intechra Health offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. That’s not as long as the guarantee you get when you buy any of the top weight loss products but it is better than nothing.
It’s a big improvement too. Intechra Health didn’t used to provide any guarantee at all.
Unfortunately, the guarantee begins on the day you order the pills, not the day you receive them. So, if the shipping is slow, you won’t have much time to see if APEX-TX5 does what you want it to do.
To claim via the guarantee, you need to contact the company by email and tell them you want to make a return.
APEX-TX5 Review Conclusion
APEX-TX5 is a well-presented product that’s marketed via a very professional-looking website. It’s also reasonably cheap to buy.
Unfortunately, there are more reasons to avoid this product than there are to buy it.
Stimulant-driven weight loss supplements tend to be more trouble than they are worth. They are more likely to cause side effects than most alternative options are and their ability to work diminishes over time.
One of the best things about APEX-TX5 is the money-back guarantee but many customers may not realize their 30-day evaluation period begins on the day they place their order.
If they presume they have 30 days to evaluate the product and then try to get their money back, they will have left it too late. If you decide to try APEX-TX5, don’t make this mistake.
Better still, go with one of the top diet pills instead. Doing so will allow you to get a longer guarantee that allows you plenty of time to monitor your results.
It is our opinion to choose a diet product similar to those that we have recommended.
